MTEIRDC Campus Buildings

The Advanced Laboratories and Facilities Building Construction project, commissioned by the Manufacturing Technology & Engineering Industry Research & Development Center (MTEIRDC), is a major institutional development in Addis Ababa city. Covering a site area of 30,125 m² with a total floor area of 55,000 m², the project is designed to provide state-of-the-art infrastructure for research, training, and advanced manufacturing.

Scope of Services: Our firm was responsible for the full spectrum of architectural services including:

• Conceptual and detailed design tailored to the complex needs of manufacturing technology and research
• Construction supervision to ensure quality, compliance, and timely delivery
• Contract administration to manage project coordination, scheduling, and budget control

Project Components: The project comprises a diverse range of buildings and facilities, including:

• Main Gate and Guard House (G+1): Secure access control and welcoming point.
• Research Laboratory (B+G+6): Multi-story facility equipped for advanced scientific research.
• Advanced Welding Laboratory, Foundry Workshop, Fabrication/Advanced Manufacturing Buildings (G+0): Single-level specialized workshops supporting core manufacturing processes.
• Assembly Hall and Syndicate Rooms: Collaborative spaces located above existing buildings.
• Display, Training Rooms, and Multipurpose Building (2B+G+12): Large-scale facilities for exhibitions, training, and multifunctional use.
• Trainers Cafeteria (G+0): Dining amenities for staff and visitors.
• Clinic Building (G+3): On-site healthcare services.
• Dormitory Buildings (G+4 and G+2): Accommodation for trainees, coaches, and teachers.
• Office and Store (G+0): Administrative and storage support spaces.
